Sheep training course, fear-free handling
Begin with the simplest, easiest way to train your sheep and enjoy the benefits for years.
This sheep training online course quickly pays for itself in everyday life.

Imagine this:
You walk into the barn with a halter. You don’t have to chase anyone – you simply choose which sheep gets the halter today. You lead her, on a loose rope, to the handling area. Your sheep stands quietly while you tie her, scratch her neck, and do whatever care you need to.
This is what becomes possible when you train step by step using rewards, the way I show inside this course.
What this sheep handling course gives you:
The course gives you a deeper way to understand animal behavior and how the environment shapes it. It gives you the tools to influence your sheep’s emotional state, so handling situations stay calm and don’t escalate into resistance. The course helps you build strong trust between you and your sheep, because training is about creating shared understanding.
Materials: 6 videos, total 3 hours of material
- A simple, step-by-step system for everyday sheep care focused on keeping your sheep calm and below the fear threshold.
- You learn through real training videos with my own flock.
- In each video I explain what I do, why I do it and how I adjust so the sheep stays relaxed.
- You’ll see real moments – including when things don’t go as planned – and how small changes can turn fear into trust.
Personal support & community
You’re not learning alone. When you join the course, you also get access to my private Facebook group.
There you can:
- share videos of your own training
- ask questions about your sheep and your situation
What you will learn in Sheep training course – level 1
- Halter training → We don’t just put the halter on the sheep’s head, because that is often where resistance already begins. Instead, we invite the sheep into cooperation.
- Leading → The timing of pressure release in training, combined with well-planned rewards and careful attention to the environment, is what creates calm leading. It is built from many elements, not just pulling or guiding with a rope.
- Standing calmly while tied → You will learn to show your sheep that being in the handling area also means being touched and handled, even in those “unfavorite” spots where the sheep would normally try to move away. Think handling the hind legs and under the belly is impossible? You will get help with that too.
- Handling and touching → how to use touch – and removing your hand at the right moment – to reinforce calm behaviour.
- Leg palpation and lifting feet → We teach the sheep that when the leg is being palpated, it stays on the ground, and that the leg is lifted only when asked. This makes examining and treating leg injuries and hoof diseases much easier – not just hoof trimming.
Above all, you will learn to see handling situations through the sheep’s eyes and respond with the mindset of a professional animal trainer.
With these learned skills, checking and caring for your sheep’s health becomes an easy and efficient routine.
Who this course is for?
- Sheep owners who want everyday life to be calmer, easier and safer – without chasing or forcing.
- People who work with sheep (animal-assisted work, therapy, petting farms) who want to build trust and cooperation instead of fear.
- Shearers who want more tools for handling farm animals and a deeper understanding of their behaviour
- Animal trainers who want to expand their skills and learn how positive, reward-based training works with sheep and other farm animals
- Farmers and breeders who want to use reward-based training at shows and handling situations to improve the animal’s emotional state, wellbeing – and performance.
The problem is rarely the sheep. Most of the time, we just need a different way to work with them. If you can see that the time you invest training now will come back to you many times later in calm , cooperative sheep – you’ll love this course and the results.
Before investing in the course, would you like to make sure that this way of handling sheep is right for you?
I have written several articles about sheep behavior, emotional states, and how sheep experience things that feel completely natural to us as humans.
After reading the articles, you will have a clearer understanding of how you can benefit from the course.

When Pippi came to us, she was scared of handling and wouldn’t let anyone touch her.
Training her took time – because she had learned to fear.
But today she stands calmly during care, eating realaxed and trusting.
Your sheep probably won’t need this level of work
but Pippi shows how even a very fearful sheep can be trained to feel safe and trusting again.
Her full story is on my youtube channel.
Why this course works?
- Uses positive reinforcement – less stress for you and your sheep.
- Not clicker training – simpler than that
- Created for busy sheep keepers – only practical videos
- Real-life training – mistakes, adjustments and simple fixes you can use at home.
- You don’t just train your sheep – you learn to think like a trainer. A mindset you can use the rest of your life with every animal you take care of.
You get the entire course for about the same cost as two visits from an animal trainer – but you can watch the videos again and again, whenever you need.
Not sure where to start?
You can begin with the Halter Training minicourse and focus only on building a positive emotional experience with the halter.
When you’re ready to go further, you can upgrade to the full course and the price will be credited.
This sheep training course is built on a deep understanding of sheep behaviour and emotional states.
The method you learn inside the course is based on the same principles I explain in my sheep training articles.
